My name is Inge Roos and I live with my husband, son and cat Billie in a house from 1900. My love for interiors and old houses is something I was born with, because I grew up in an old house. The same goes for my husband, so it was immediately clear that this was our preference.
When we went to view this house, there were very few old details left. It had been remodeled in the 1970s. Think of scrapings, tiles, clean masonry and cork on the wall. In short, everything we do not like! Fortunately we could see through this and the large sunny garden on the southwest was what made us decide to buy the house.
Next we scoured the Netherlands and Belgium looking for old building materials. This is how we made our house and garden our own, piece by piece, and as you can see on my IG account, we keep on remodeling and changing.
When we were ready for something new 2 years ago, the choice was moving or renovating. After a few viewings we chose the latter and completely changed the house back to our wishes: a fireplace, steel doors, a skylight, a closet, a shed with outdoor kitchen and a decking terrace. We made good use of the lockdown period.
I always stay true to my own style, the combination of old and new, art, natural materials and colors are really constant factors in my interior.
