I'm Rikje, 56 years young and live together with my dog Puck in a rented apartment in the Betuwe (NL). I work with great pleasure at an accounting firm, which is a wonderful contrast to my passion for interiors. For me it's the perfect balance.
It's a challenge for me to show that you can also make a real home from a rented apartment, that is budget proof and sometimes a bit daring. For example, I painted my kitchen cabinets and the countertop, treated a wall in the bathroom with metallic paint, installed a new vanity and put an industrial door in the living room.
My style? It is actually not possible to categorize it. I love basic, light, quiet and cool, but also 'old' items with a personal history. For me this makes my interior unique and individual. I get most of my inspiration from home improvement stores, flea markets and thrift stores. If I come across something beautiful there, a picture automatically forms in my head.
After my divorce in 2017 I started, mainly on my daughter's advice, with Instagram and now this has really become a passion. It is wonderful to inspire people and to get inspired myself. Shooting beautiful pictures of my interior and sharing them with my followers is so much fun!
